BERMEO SUCCESSFUL IN VETERANS CHASE

Bermeo maintained the superb form of the yard with a successful debut for us in the £40,000 Conditional Jockeys Veterans Chase Series Final at Newbury on Saturday 2 April.

It was a red letter day for his rider Bryan Carver who was registering his 75th winner and has now lost his claim.

Bermeo, who is now eleven, had some useful form in the past but had dropped to a handicap mark of 107 by the time he sent to us by his owner Roly Stuart Jervis in January.

He had one or two little issues which we were able to sort out but as he was well in himself I was hopeful he might run into a place. Winning in style, was certainly a bonus. He travelled well and didn’t seem to mind the drying ground so we will probably keep him going now while looking for another suitable target in the next couple of months. One that springs to mind is the Summer Cup at Uttoxeter.
