A niggling problem with a splint means that our exciting young hurdler Boothill will miss the rest of the season.
The problem first came to light shortly after his highly impressive success on his debut over hurdles at Taunton early in December.
Initially the affected area settled down but when it flared up again we sent him to Newmarket’s Equine Hospital on Monday, 1 February for a thorough examination.
They have advised that Boothill needs a full month’s box rest which obviously rules him out of the Cheltenham Festival and the rest of the campaign.
We will give him all the time that is necessary to make a complete recovery and we are already looking forward to having him back in training next season when he will be going chasing. He could be awesome over fences.
