Forever Blessed made a perfect start to his racing career with a taking success in the juvenile hurdle at Ffos Las on Thursday 28 October.

A beautifully bred type from a strong female line he joined us as a two year old from Ireland, has made pleasing progress in his work at home and has always jumped for fun.

He was one of a number of our horses who enjoyed an away day at Salisbury recently on soft ground so I was confident he would handle the testing conditions at Ffos Las.

But Forever Blessed was up against rivals who had plenty of experience on the flat, so I was delighted to see him settle into a nice rhythm for Bryan Carver before they began to make eye-catching headway turning for home.

Bryan reported that his mount came alive at that stage, winged the last two flights and came clear on the flat without being at all hard pressed.

It was a lovely debut by a young horse who is bound to improve for the experience. I’ll see how he comes out of the race before making any plans and will not be rushing to run him again quickly.

We know for sure that he handles deep ground so we might look for another three year old hurdle with a penalty before raising our sights with him in due course.
