LOVE ENVOI A GALLANT SECOND IN GRADE 1 AT FAIRYHOUSE

 In Uncategorized

Love Envoi completed a brilliant first season over hurdles with a fine run into second place in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Novice Hurdle Championship Final at Fairyhouse on Sunday 17 April.

We knew that taking her to Ireland was a big ask at the end of a long and rewarding campaign but she was in good form at home and deserved a crack at a Grade 1 prize.

She ran very well, too, dug deep and found plenty without quite matching the strong finish of Brandy Love who won fair and square.

Johnny Burke reported that Love Envoi felt a little bit flat compared to Cheltenham but he was impressed by the way she battled on to secure second spot in the closing stages.

I’d like to add that we were very well looked after by Fairyhouse who make visiting runners and their connections so welcome.
Love Envoi has earned a nice long holiday back in the care of Noel and Natasha Fehily in Wiltshire. We are all looking forward to seeing what she might do next season after a summer at grass.

One logical target is the Mares’ Hurdle at The Cheltenham Festival and we will probably work back from that date.
