ANOTHER BIG SATURDAY SUCCESS FOR ALTOBELLI

Altobelli produced a career-best with a commanding victory in the Betfair Exchange Handicap Hurdle at Ascot on Saturday 15 February ridden by Bryan Carver in the colours of Charles Walker and Johnny Craib.

He was running off a 5lbs higher mark after his previous success at the same track a month ago and won even more handsomely this time.

He travelled beautifully, jumped very well and never looked in any danger apart perhaps from the moment he briefly ran around approaching the final flight.

Altobelli is clearly on the upgrade and the cheekpieces he has worn on his last two starts have certainly sharpened him up and given him more confidence.

The experience he gained last season in two-mile handicaps is paying off now that we have stepped him up in trip.

He is thriving at the moment and can hopefully keep riding the crest of the wave. He will most likely run in the Coral Cup at Cheltenham.
