TRUSTINTIMES WINS ON DEBUT OVER HURDLES
It was fun to be top of the trainers’ table for around twenty minutes on Saturday after Trustintimes landed the opening race of the new jumps season at Uttoxeter in the colours of the Time On Our Hands Boys Syndicate.
The ground staff had done a fine job with the ground, and Trustintimes appreciated the conditions as he travelled nicely behind the leaders before edging ahead at the final flight in a competitive maiden hurdle.
He then showed a willing attitude to hold the late challenge of Frontier Prince by a neck. While his jumping was a bit novicey on this debut over hurdles, it improved as the race developed, and he will have learned plenty from the experience.
Trustintimes was progressive in his bumpers before winning on his third start at Kempton and could run again under a penalty in a novice hurdle in three or four weeks’ time. Our last three runners in this country have all won, which is encouraging for the months ahead.
