BOOTHILL NARROWLY DENIED BY JONBON IN GRADE 2 SHLOER CHASE
Boothill excelled in finishing a close second to the odds on favourite Jonbon in the Grade 2 Shloer Chase at Cheltenham on Friday 15 November.
It was great to see him run so well on his first start since we cauterised his palate over the summer. Jonbon is top-class and hard to beat but we gave it a good go and only just up a short.
Boothill put in a fine round of jumping. He was confident, accurate and hopefully, it is onwards and upwards with him from this point. Any thoughts of sending him to Ascot next Saturday for the valuable Hurst Park handicap he has won for the last two years have now gone out of the window.
Instead we will look at the Grade 1 Tingle Creek at Sandown early next month when Boothill can expect to meet Jonbon and other top two chasers. He showed on Friday that he is at home in that company.
