IDAHO SUN MAKES WINNING HURDLES DEBUT
Idaho Sun enjoyed a highly pleasing introduction to hurdles with a comfortable success at Fontwell on Sunday 26 October in the colours of Jeremy Gear.
The winner of his first two bumpers before a decent showing in the Champion bumper at Cheltenham, we have always felt that jumping would be his forte.
Idaho Sun raced prominently throughout at Fontwell in a two and a quarter mile maiden race, hurdling fluently, before his only mistake at the second last flight just as he was set to take the lead.
He recovered quickly, gathered himself, and the eased ahead before the last on his way to beating Gaelic Pride by three and a half lengths.
It was a lovely debut by Idaho Sun who would prefer more give in the ground and a stronger pace.
He will run next in a month’s time in the Introductory Hurdle at Ascot which we have won in the past with a couple of horses including Metier.
