KAP OUEST SHEDS HIS MAIDEN TAG OVER HURDLES
Kap Ouest gained his first success with a workmanlike victory in a maiden hurdle at Exeter on Thursday, 19 December in the colours of JP McManus. It was a welcome result for our team after four of our last five runners finished second.
Kap Ouest had shown distinct promise at Chepstow last time and travelled nicely at Exeter until running in front through inexperience going to the second last flight. He found plenty when challenged at the final hurdle on his way to defeating Tuxedo Junction by two lengths.
Kap Ouest is a fine, big scopey horse whose future will be over fences. But before then, I hope he can progress over hurdles, and I’ll try to get him qualified for the EBF Final at Sandown in March.
