LAST OF A LEGEND SECOND SUCCESS OF THE SEASON
Last of a Legend gained her second success of the season in the tightest possible finish at Plumpton on Tuesday 28 February in the colours of Hot To Trot racing.
Plenty of their members were on hand to cheer her home after a sustained duel with Fortuna Ligna. The pair had the two and a half mile handicap hurdle between them from flagfall and our mare’s nose was just ahead as the duo passed the winning post locked together.
While Last of a Legend is not the biggest she makes up for her lack of size with a pleasing toughness of spirit.
We trained her dam Blue Buttons and she has the same blend of talent and determination.
Last of a Legend was given a fine ride by our talented conditional Ben Bromley who was delighted to ride out his 7lbs claim.
He is an enthusiastic member of our team and has done well to bounce back from a lengthy ban incurred at Sandown late last year. Hopefully Last of a Legend can remain competitive in mares’ handicaps this spring on the decent ground she appreciates.
