MONJULES GAINS THIRD SUCCESS OF THE SEASON

Monjules gained his third win from four starts this season with a fluent success in testing conditions at Fontwell on Saturday 18 March in the colours of David’s Partnership.

He looked the best horse throughout, jumped well apart from a mistake at the second last and drew clear for a comfortable victory. It was a notable triumph for his jockey Lorcan Murtagh who is a big part of our team and was reaching the landmark figure of 75 winners which means that he has ridden out his claim. I couldn’t be more pleased for him.

Monjules is only five and used to try to do everything flat out when he first joined us. But he is a totally different horse now, much more settled and relaxed which is obviously helping him in his races.

The only blot on his record for us was a below par effort at Huntingdon on his second start. Nothing came to light afterwards and he has now won both his subsequent starts at Fontwell. Monjules is progressing nicely, big enough for fences and we might even consider looking to utilise his lowly mark on the flat.
