THE YARD CONTINUES IN GREAT FORM WITH HIGH FIBRE WINNING
High Fibre maintained our fine start to the new season with a fluent success in the second division of the maiden hurdle at Worcester on Friday 23rd May.
A little earlier Hello Cello also ran very well to finish second under top weight in the two and a half mile handicap hurdle.
High Fibre has been knocking on the door over hurdles and more than deserved this first win under a confident ride by Rex Dingle in the colours of Gary Steven’s who owns him in partnership with my wife Ciara.
We hoped he would get his head in front in the spring but he needed a bit of time off after knocking into himself when he finished second to Fasol at Taunton in March.
Hopefully he will gain a bit more confidence from winning and I’ll now be looking for a novice race for him under a penalty.
He is also qualified for the valuable final of the Summer Brush Novice Hurdle Series at Worcester in September which could be a tempting target.
The sparkling form of the yard continued with Just A Heartbeat running a fantastic race on her first start over hurdles. Bryan Carver was back in the saddle after returning from an injury. She will have learned plenty and is a nice prospect for the novice hurdle division this season.
