TRUSTINTIMES RECORDS BIG SATURDAY ASCOT SUCCESS
The spirited victory of Trustintimes in a valuable handicap hurdle at Ascot on Saturday 31 October came as a timely tonic after a kick at the start led to Boothill’s withdrawal from the two mile chase.
I was looking for big runs from both horses and luckily the damage to Boothill was limited to a superficial cut on his tibia.
Brian Lambert, the owner of Boothill, also runs the syndicate called Time On Our Hands Boys who own Trustintimes, a progressive five year old with a decent profile.
It’s always nice when a plan comes off and a run on the flat just over a fortnight earlier put him spot on for Saturday’s race.
Țrustintimes was ridden with patience by Bryan Carver before he winged the last hurdle and led 100 yards out on his way to a cosy success.
Hopefully there is more to come and he has an entry in a fortnight in Cheltenham’s Greatwood Hurdle in which we also have the ante post favourite Idaho Sun so that race is an option if the current weather stays the same.
Or we could keep him for the Gerry Feilden Hurdle on the day of the Coral Gold Cup at Newbury at the end of the month.
