WALK ON HIGH MAINTAINS HIS GREAT FORM TO WIN AGAIN

 In Uncategorized
Walk on High maintained the good form of our team with a comfortable success in a valuable two and a half mile Class 3 handicap hurdle at Plumpton on Monday 3 November, in the colours of the Highland Walkers.
It came almost exactly two years after he fractured a vertebrae in his neck in a heavy fall at Wincanton which he did well to survive.
A long spell of box rest followed for Walk on High while he was carefully nursed back to full health and it has been brilliant to see the patience of his owners rewarded with three wins on the bounce.
He jumped and travelled well on Monday, led three out and galloped on to beat the useful handicapper Loverdose by three and a quarter lengths with the third fifteen lengths further behind.
We are now looking forward to seeing Walk on High over fences because he has the size and scope of a chaser.
Provided his schooling at home goes to plan he should be making his debut over the bigger obstacles in a month’s time.
On a personal note, I remember his dam Highland Retreat with much affection as she provided my first winner as a trainer in 2012 in the colours of my great friend and mentor Richard Barber.
