CARRIGMOORNA ROWAN OFF THE MARK

Carrigmoorna Rowan gained an welcome first success over hurdles at Market Rasen over two miles five furlongs on Wednesday 10 April when ridden by Johnny Burke in the colours of the Noel Fehily Racing syndicate.

He’s been running consistently this winter on testing ground that has been far from ideal but he stays well and after briefly being outpaced racing towards the final turn he was firmly on top at the finish in a first time tongue tie.

Carrigmoorna Rowan galloped all the way to the line, was strong at the finish and it was encouraging to see the first two stretch clear of the field in the closing stages.

The ground has got to dry up soon and I’ll be looking to run him again under a penalty in a few weeks time. He won a Point-to-Point before joining us and should make up into a useful staying chaser in time.
