Ciara grew up in County Limerick on the west coast of Ireland, hooked by horses from the beginning, she began riding out and swiftly caught the racing bug.

Starting out as a salaried trainer to a small National Hunt yard she honed her skills, before a move to England beckoned. It was in August 2010 that Ciara took the role of Head Girl at Paul Nicholls’ satellite yard. As a regular rider of Rock On Ruby she was instrumental in the decision making process of his glittering career.

When Harry Fry Racing was set up in 2012, Ciara remained at Seaborough as Assistant Trainer, a role she has fulfilled since. Managing the yard on a daily basis, she is dedicated to providing first-class care and attention to the horses. Riding out in the morning means Ciara assists Harry with the plotting, planning and execution of race programmes. Ultimately the key to her success to ensuring horses are happy, healthy and ready to run.

Aside from her wealth of experience at home, Ciara is often hosting owners on race days and juggling time with her two young girls, Ruby and Eireann.

Her sister Aine O’Connor, continues to take the weighing room by storm in Ireland having enjoyed, until recently, a successful stint in England riding numerous winners for Harry Fry Racing.
