ELECTRIC ALTOBELLI CONTINUES UNBEATEN RUN

 In Uncategorized

I was delighted to see Altobelli extend his unbeaten record with a thumping victory by twenty five lengths under a penalty in a novice hurdle at Carlisle on Monday 20 February in the colours of Charles Walker and Jonny Craib.

With the ground much quicker than ideal at this time of year after such a long dry spell we are having to travel far and wide in search of suitable ground. But Altobelli justified the journey to Cumbria with a performance that again showed he has a serious engine.

Although Bryan Carver didn’t set out to make the running his mount settled nicely in front, was always in command and cruised clear to win in a canter despite being eased on the flat.

There is still room for improvement and we need to keep working on his jumping but he was much better over his hurdles than on his debut at Ffos Las and should continue to progress with experience.
We will see how Altobelli comes out of the race before making any firm plans but I might consider running him next at Aintree’s Grand National meeting in April.
