HAY THERE MONA OFF THE MARK

Hay There Mona delivered our second success in 24 hours with a fluent victory at Taunton on Tuesday 21 February in the colours of Miriam Hanniford in a mares handicap hurdle over three miles.

She has been knocking on the door and and while we felt she would appreciate the step up in trip we were a bit concerned that she might be outpaced on the drier ground. But she got into a lovely rhythm, jumped well and won nicely with a little bit in hand ridden by Ben Bromley who is very good value for his 7lbs claim.

It was his first winner since a lengthy ban ruled him out during a busy period in the racing calendar.
All being well Hay There Mona will return to Taunton in a month’s time for another mares handicap over the same distance.
