FIRST DOUBLE OF THE NEW SEASON WITH MISS GOLDFIRE AND LA CADALORA
We enjoyed our first double of the new season at Fontwell on Wednesday, 6 May with Miss Goldfire winning the opening race for conditional jockeys and La Cadalora adding to our score half an hour later with a pleasing success under a penalty in a novice hurdle.
Back down to her last winning mark of 103 over course and distance Miss Goldfire, owned by the Harry Fry Racing Syndicate, was given a positive ride by Ciaran O’Shea, who has now won three times on her. It was great to see her get her head back in front.
She appreciates drier ground, led on the final turn and kept on willingly to see off the challenge of Mistress Fox. We will keep her going over the summer with conditions in her favour.
La Cadalora maintained the red-hot form of our stable jockey Bryan Carver, who is currently on a strike rate of over 50%. The market suggested it was a two-horse race, and so it proved as La Cadalora travelled well before readily seeing off the challenge of her main rival, Flash Man.
By Nathaniel, she showed promise on the flat when trained in Newmarket, and is going from strength to strength since joining us and will stay further in time.
La Cadarola is the first horse owned by a group of families who live in the area, and she is giving them a lot of fun.
She will most likely have a short break now before we look to give her a try on the flat.
