GEEZER ROCKSTAR PUTS IN A CAREER BEST PERFORMANCE
Geezer Rockstar continued our fine start to the new season with a fluent success in a Class 2 £18,000 handicap hurdle over just shy of three miles at Uttoxeter on Saturday 16 May off a mark of 114.
We were quite hopeful that Stanners Glen might provide us with a second winner on the card, but he had to stay at home with a bruised foot.
Geezer Rockstar has now won four times, but crucially, this was the first occasion he has backed up a previous victory.
He is definitely best at this time of year, enjoys good ground, and we felt it was worthwhile rolling the dice again off a lightweight with such decent prize money on offer.
He travelled well the whole way, eased ahead after the second last flight and came clear on his way to beating Super Survivor by eight lengths to the delight of his four owners.
Geezer Rockstar has already schooled tidily over fences and will definitely go chasing at some point this season.
First, though, we have to decide whether to keep him on the go or give him a little holiday.
