MEET THE STARS AT NATIONAL RACEHORSE WEEK
Harry and Ciara will open the gates of Higher Crockermoor on Monday 31 August, giving racing fans, families and the local community a rare opportunity to go behind the scenes as part of National Racehorse Week 2026.
Taking place from 1:30pm–3:30pm, the free open afternoon will offer visitors the chance to meet some of the yard’s best-known racehorses, watch demonstrations and discover more about the work that goes into keeping racehorses happy, healthy and performing at their best.
National Racehorse Week sees yards, studs and aftercare centres across the country open their doors to celebrate the love, care and attention racehorses receive 365 days a year.
Meet the stars of Higher Crockermoor
One of the highlights of the afternoon will be the opportunity to meet some familiar faces, both past and present.
Visitors can look forward to meeting last season’s Grade 1 winner Idaho Sun, Grade 2 winner Gidleigh Park and yard stalwart Boothill, alongside two horses who played a hugely important part in the career of Harry and Ciara, former champions Rock On Ruby and Unowhatimeanharry.
It is a special opportunity to see these horses at home and learn more about their individual personalities, routines and the care they receive from the team every day.
Behind the scenes of a racing yard
The afternoon will consist of a range of behind-the-scenes activities showcasing life at a professional National Hunt racing stable.
Visitors will be able to tour the yard, meet the racehorses and speak to the team who care for them. There will also be an equine physiotherapy demonstration, providing an insight into the treatment and techniques used to support the horses’ health, recovery and performance.
A farrier demonstration will offer another fascinating look at an essential part of racehorse care, explaining the importance of hoof health and the role careful, skilled farriery plays in keeping equine athletes sound and comfortable.

The majority of the yard is accessible for wheelchairs and mobility scooters, with parking, toilet facilities and drinking water available. Refreshments will also be available to purchase, with cash payment only.
Please note that each person may book only one National Racehorse Week event.
