GIDLEIGH PARK MAINTAINS UNBEATEN RECORD

 In Uncategorized

Gidleigh Park took another significant step up the ladder with a highly impressive victory under a penalty in a novice hurdle at Newbury on Wednesday 20 December in the colours of the Eyre family.

His jumping in the early stages was not always foot perfect but improved markedly once the pace increased. He travelled strongly throughout, was already in command jumping the final flight and won without knowing he’d been in a race.

There is no denying that Gidleigh Park is an exciting prospect. He put a lot of distance between himself and the rest on the flat, hit the line hard and Johnny Burke had a job to pull him up.
It’s encouraging that the form from his two previous race at Chepstow and Exeter is working out so well.

For the moment the dream is still alive and the plan now is to take him to the Trials day at Cheltenham at the end of January for the Grade 2 Ballymore Novice Hurdle.
