ALTOBELLI MAKES PLEASING START OVER HURDLES

 In Uncategorized

Altobelli made a pleasing start to his hurdles career with a comfortable victory in a competitive maiden race at Ffos Las on Thursday 22 December in the colours of Charlie Walker and Jonny Craib.

Despite being a bit keen and novicey he was firmly on top in the closing stages as he provided our third success in three days. While it has not been entirely plain sailing with Altobelli the form of his bumper win on his debut at Exeter has been franked and he again showed that he has a bright future by seeing off the persistent challenge of Uncle Bert at Ffos Las by one and three-quarter lengths.

He clearly has a decent engine and his jumping will improve with experience but we are not in a rush with him and will probably keep things low key by looking for a novice race under a penalty in a month’s time.

If Altobelli should happen to win again then we can raise our sights and consider a Listed novice hurdle for him at Exeter in February.
