CREDROJAVA MAKES PROMISING HURDLES DEBUT

Credrojava made a highly pleasing debut over hurdles at Fontwell on Tuesday 6 December. She is a lovely, talented mare who is unbeaten in a Point-to-Point, bumper and now over hurdles.

We did consider giving her another run in a bumper but her schooling has been so good we decided to let her kick on over hurdles. She made all the running over two miles, three furlongs at Fontwell, jumping soundly, and despite looking a bit green on the flat kept on stoutly to win unchallenged by fifteen lengths.

You couldn’t ask for a better introduction to hurdles and I wouldn’t be concerned about dropping her back to two miles. We might raise our sights with Credrojava now and aim her at a Listed mares’ novice hurdle at Taunton on December 30th.

Our hardy twelve year old performer Sir Ivan ran his usual solid race at Fontwell in finishing third in the handicap Chase over two and three-quarter miles. Next for him early in January at Sandown is another crack at the valuable Veterans Chase Final in which he has finished third for the last two years.
