GET BACK GET BACK GAINS FIRST SUCCESS IN TWO YEARS

 In Uncategorized

It was good to see Get Back Get Back gain his first success for more than two years in a two mile handicap hurdle confined to conditional jockeys at Kempton on Monday 7 November.

He has been in good form at home recently, schooling well so we decided to run him even though the ground was softer than he prefers. He’s been a frustrating horse since his last victory at Plumpton in September 2020 and has been placed countless times.

We even sent him to the Doncaster sales in September but his owners the Gdm Partnership sensibly didn’t want to let him go cheaply and he was led out unsold with the bidding stalled at 9,000 Guineas.

That decision paid off at Kempton where he made up ground from the rear to put his seal on the race at the second last flight before stretching clear to win by five and a half lengths from First Quest. It was a decent performance under top weight and I imagine he will be out again soon in another boys race, without a penalty, possibly at Warwick on November 16.
