LIGHTLY SQUEEZE DEFIES 532 DAY ABSENCE TO WIN

 In Uncategorized

Lightly Squeeze defied an absence of 532 days with a fluent victory on his comeback in a two mile handicap hurdle at Kempton on Monday 21 November.

The chances of him running again were not promising after he broke down on both front legs on his previous start in France in June 2021.

But we gave him plenty of time to recover and it was brilliant to see the patience of his owners rewarded in style at Kempton.

The handicapper had given him a fair chance by dropping him 10lbs to a mark of 130 yet he was still conceding weight to all his rivals on a day when the going eased in his favour.

He was given a nice, patient ride by Ben Bromley who waited off the pace before bringing him through to lead going to the second last flight of hurdles. Lightly Squeeze then coasted clear without having a hard race. You can’t plan too far ahead with a horse like this given his past issues so we will see how he is in the morning before thinking about future targets.
